Impress your lender
There is no denying that the loan application process
can be stressful. Applicants have been known to become
frazzled during the final weeks of buying a home. While
that is understandable, you should make sure that you
do everything within your power to stay on your lender’s
good side.
You would be surprised and angered if your mortgage
representative treated you rudely, so make sure you
return the favor of civility, even when you feel like
you’re at the end of your rope.
In fact, when you stop to think about, there are all
kinds of behaviors you expect from your mortgage representative.
Honesty, prompt attention, diplomacy: you constantly
expect these things from your lender. If you were not
treated with professionalism, you would probably report
them to the Better Business Bureau. Unfortunately, lenders
do not have the satisfaction of reporting rude customers
to the Better Business Bureau. Instead, they will be
less inclined to give you the best deals and customer
service. As a result, you’re the one who ultimately
suffers from rudeness.
There are certain things that you can do to show your
lender that you will be a responsible borrower. First
of all, provide them with all of the documentation they
need promptly and without complaint. Lenders need to
learn about you in order to judge whether you’ll
be a good borrower. Don’t make that process harder
than it has to be, and don’t ever be dishonest.
So always remember to be polite to your mortgage advisor
throughout the loan application process. You won’t
regret it, and besides, it’s good manners. |
